My name is Marissa, Owner and Lead creative here at Elmwood. I am a boy mom and a wife! We are midwest lovers and full time homesteaders. Honestly, if you follow me, you know my chickens & animals are also my family. (soon to add cows, sheep and pigs eeeek!)

what do i do when i’m not photographing beautiful people? easy :: relaxing, four wheeling, bon fires, gardening, and hanging with our animals! being home and enjoying family time is so important to us, but getting in our hunter green school bus we’ve converted into an off grid rv is by far our go to. outside with friends & family is where you’ll find me when I’m not snapping photos and editing in my home office. follow me on instagram to know more & don’t be shy ;) I would love to get to know you too!

i have been photographing families, birth stories and weddings for over 10 years, but ’elmwood’ was born in january of 2017 when i took the plunge in doing the type of photography that i love full time! the name of my business came from the street name of where i purchased my first home in 2013. it was where we welcomed & raised our baby boy & made so many monumental memories- it just felt right to name my business after the space that brought us so much joy!
