Q: How many photos do I get?
A: This may be one of the most common questions I get. Some photographers limit the number of edited images in your final gallery. I do not! I edit and deliver as many beautiful photographs as we take. That number is different for every session or wedding. My criteria is: sharp, great light, no blurr, great expressions or emotions, beautiful color and composition.

q: what should we wear?
A: if you are planning outfits for a family session, try to avoid neon colors and distracting graphics on clothes. (no sports teams, no disney princesses etc) Neutrals are always beautiful, but dont you dare stray away from your style! I love a whispy, colorful, floral dress paired with a classic button up. If you’re ever lost and not sure what to wear, scroll my social medias and get some inspo from my past clients! Another odd reminder… don’t let the men in your lives wear shorts during your shoot (trust me, knees are weird). to get in touch with my wardrobe stylist add that request in your email!

q: what happens if it rains the day of my session or we have horrible weather?
A: Midwest weather. nuff said. but yes I do have back up dates, locations and ideas. Sometimes rain is a good thing! If the weather happens to keep us from shooting, you can expect swift communication and many options to reschedule without paying any extra!

q: if Me or my kids has a face blemish are you able to edit that out?
A: Yes! Simple acne, bruises or poorly timed ouchies on your kiddos are absolutely included in the package you select. However, if you’re looking to have anything excessive edited out, there may be an additional charge. That’s where we can chat more about what you’d like edited/photoshopped. if you’re wanting me to take off ten pounds, recolor your hair, turn the cloudy day into a sunny day, edit a smile on your husband or edit out a cast of a broken arm- no thank you :)

q: how long does it take to get my photos back?
a: every artist is different. I do not compare my prices, practices or methods to anyone else in this industry. some photographers deliver previews in 24 hours (more power to ‘em!) and some deliver final galleries in less than 2 weeks. If that’s what you’re after, you’re in the wrong place. My art takes time and so much of my attention. Its a blessing & a curse considering how detailed i edit every single image that i deliver. And because i send very large galleries, that means it takes more time. during my busiest seasons- portraits are delivered within 6 weeks and weddings within 15 weeks. Oh also don’t forget! i am a one woman show, i have a family & even a little bit of a social life, too :)

q: can you edit my session differently than you normally do?
A: No. not much else to say here other than… you chose me as your photographer for a reason- you like my work. If for some reason you’re just shopping around & i was the only photographer available, i don’t think we’re a great fit.

Q: how should my family prepare for a session with you?
A: for the week and day following up to our scheduled session try to keep calm. this may sound silly, but newborns and children (even spouses) can feel the energy while anticipating a photoshoot. getting family and outfits, hair + makeup together isn’t easy, or fun. But! i promise, the more you breath, keep the energy in the room light and remind everyone how fun it’s going to be- you’ll thank me. if we’re having an in home session, keep the temperature warm. Not super hot to where we’re all sweating like pigs, but comfortable and cozy. bring snacks and ideas to your shoot! What do i mean by ideas? well- i will ask you as parents a few questions. What is their favorite song/game/color/superhero/princess/food? It’s pretty often that i dont get much of a response. I want to make sure your kiddos are as comfortable with me as possible.

Q: do you discount if we bundle multiple sessions together?
A: i do! I understand how big of an investment this is. my heart is in this with you 100% and i want you to share these precious images of you and your favorite people for generations to come. if you have a budget to stick to- just ask me:) if you want to bundle three or more sessions together for the next year- just ask me:)

Q: Are you cool?
