Your next question is probably “Now what?” After we go over some details in your initial inquiry, we will find a date and time that works best for us both! At this point i will assume you’ve seen my work and it really resonates with you! That includes editing style. While, that can shift from one client to the next, i have built my portfolio and style over the course of more than ten years. i do not tend to follow trends (you wont see a dutch angle on my page i promise!) and only hope to get incredible movement, genuine smiles, tack sharp images and a final gallery that showcases who you are and the moment you’re in. ready to make it official? once the contract is read in detail, signed and the invoice is paid, you are locked in & officially booked!
leading up to your session or wedding we will discuss location and outfits/vision. i’ll always ask if you have a special location in mind, something that means more to you than a local park. If you’d like me to take the reigns on location, just let me know! I have an arsenal of places i have collected over the last ten years. I know where and when is the best light & am happy to take that decision off of your plate. I love having a hand in outfit coordination. Pinterest can be a great tool to get inspiration, but please stay true to your style and comfort (just with a little extra pizazz) I will never be a photographer that suggests neutrals. I prefer personality, color, eclectic mixes of patterns and colors. If there is anything to stray away from, it is neon anything. The neon color (bright greens, oranges, pinks etc) on a top or full dress tend to reflect poorly on your skin making it next to impossible to edit out. Always send over what you’re thinking and you can expect a really honest response from me!
at your session it’s game on! With kiddos I will lean into their personalities and ever changing moods. if someone is more shy, missed their nap or laid back, that’s what we are! if there is high energy we totally lean into that. i consider myself elite at “reading the room” and that will be my first priority! With couples, plan to be taken out of your comfort zone. not in a cheesey, annoying way (the goal is that your fiance or husband doesn’t hate me), but to really be present and enjoy yourself. there is a fine line between expectation and reality, so really challenge yourself to trust the process! i love posing and prompting moments as much as the next guy, but if you’re looking 10/10, i wont interrupt too much :) If something doesn’t look great or we are ready to switch it up, i’ll let you know!
after our session, i wont be radio silent, but now my head is deep into the culling/editing process. typically, i edit the same gallery more than once. sounds insane doesn’t it?! hahah! if i pride myself in something, it is hands down how detailed and particular i am about colors and fine details. i tend to batch edit larger sessions by editing groups of images and then coming back to them with fresh eyes. that leads to re-editing and fixing. aka- time consuming. my general turn around time is 3-6 weeks for portrait sessions and 10-15 weeks for weddings. if that feels like a long time to wait, it probably is! The photography industry has been geared toward instant gratification, but great things take time. you deserve for each image to be handled delicately and never rushed. my children (who are home educated) are with me 25/8 and take absolute priority in my life. but when im not with them, im looking at your faces on my screen :) please know, i want nothing more than to deliver a final gallery as soon as possible, but that process will never, ever be rushed. you deserve the absolute best and this is my best!
